Hours: 35-40 hrs/week
Salary: $32.00/hr
Overtime: $48.00/hr (As per BC Standards – for over 8 hrs/day; 40 hrs/wk)
Observed Holidays: As outlined on labour.gov.bc.ca – 10 holidays/yr

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret drawings, sketches, work orders and site instructions to determine framing and repair requirements.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape, assemble and join lumber, plywood, engineered wood and other framing materials.
- Prepare layouts for walls, floors, ceilings, openings and other wood-frame components in accordance with project specifications and applicable building code requirements.
- Frame, repair and reinforce residential structures, including walls, floors, subfloors, beams, partitions, roof components, door openings and window openings.
- Perform restoration carpentry work on damaged residential units, including removal and replacement of deteriorated, damaged or unsafe wood framing components.
- Install backing, blocking, sheathing, bracing and other support components required for restoration, renovation and new residential construction projects.
- Fit and install carpentry items such as doors, stairs, mouldings, trim, hardware and related finishing components where required by the project.
- Operate hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment safely, including saws, drills, nail guns, levels and layout tools.
- Follow site safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, handle materials properly, and coordinate daily work with the site supervisor, trades and other construction workers.
