Job Duties:
- Help coworkers with cleaning, organizing, and basic meal preparation.
- Plan and carry out child-care programs that support children’s physical, mental, emotional, and social development.
- Read stories and encourage a love of books.
- Observe each child’s growth and development to create a learning plan that fits their individual needs.
- Support early childhood educators in delivering programs that help children grow and learn in all areas of development.
- Help maintain accurate records of children’s progress and daily activities.
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
- Share written observations about children’s behavior and development with supervisors or educators.
- Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children.
- Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers.
